Move Over Tricycle

Luke has graduated to a 12" bike...Logan's to be exact! Just yesterday Luke has discovered that he too is big enough for Logan's new bike. He enjoys riding it around in the garage as well as the driveway. For now he is kind of content letting Luke ride his bike knowing that he never stays on it too long. Today Logan reminded me that he only rides it for a minute!

Fun at the Pool

Chris and I took the boys to the Bent Creek pool the other night to cool off (hot weather finally). We enjoyed some really nice family time together and a nice meal poolside! The boys started swim lessons the other week and it has been going well. Logan seems to be enjoying them (after some coaxing to get started) but Luke shows no interest other than playing in the water. I am thinking about dropping Luke's lessons and just concentrating on Logan's night now. We have another lesson tomorrow so I will see how that one goes and then make my decision concerning Luke. After swim lessons we spend additional time at the pool and the boys love going back and forth between the big pool and the baby pool. This past Tuesday the boys got brave and have started jumping in pool side. They are loving it and I feel safe knowing that we have doubled up on flotation devices!

I was talking with Logan today about how he was swimming just like a fish in the water and he promptly corrects me saying, "I not a fish mom, I a boy!" I stand corrected!

Luke loves the water and now his new found freedom!

He jumps, He sinks, He swims!

Nothing better than some quality time with Dad!

Farm Days at Landis Homes

Everyother year Landis Homes puts on what they call Farm Days. We went 2 years ago when Luke was just a week or two old and Logan was 14 months old. He loved it then and again it was a hit. The boys are crazy for tractors and love petting animals...so what's not to like? My mom and I took the boys this year and enjoyed a tractor ride, petting zoo with baby animals, antique tractors and a picnic lunch.

The boys were allowed inside the cage of the baby goats. One of the favorites, however, Logan's allergies didn't fare well with these animals!

Logan's favorite were the baby chicks

Luke's favorite were the piglets! He actually held one but I didn't get it on camera :(

Luke Peddles!!!!

Luke is 2 yrs. old + 1 week and he is officially able to ride his own bike...that's right, he can peddle! He has shocked us with how early he has conquered this task but there's no telling what this boy will do to keep up with his older brother!

Growing up entirely too fast - and we thought Logan learned early at 2 1/2 yrs.

Both boys out on a bike ride...Riding off into the sunset....or atleast until a dead end!

Eggciting!!!!

When you have a child with food allergies and discover a product that is suppose to be a "replacer" for the allergen and realize that your child might actually be able to have the "normal" food that "normal" children are able to have one would get excited. That was the case with me. I came across this egg replacer and thought, "Wow, now Logan will be able to eat cake, cookies, pancakes, muffins and everything else that we had to avoid before!" I gave it a try and WOW does it ever work! The food is wonderful - infact you can't even tell that it was made without eggs!

I have tried and have been successful with Chocolate Chip Cookies, Cupcakes, Pancakes, Strawberry Shortcakes, Brownies and am ready to try many more!

I made these cookies last night after the boys went to bed. They are simply delicious!

Egg Replacer was used in these cupcakes for Luke's birthday

And of course I was super excited for the boys to try their chocolate chip cookies that I let them eat one each for breakfast.....parenting at it's best! :) The boys loved them and had more as an afternoon snack! It makes my heart happy to see that Logan is now able to eat just like every other child.
