Happy 2nd Birthday Luke!

It's hard to believe that my baby is now 2yrs. old! Those two years have just flown by and I wish that I could keep him little forever! Luke is forever busy keeping up with Logan and sometimes Logan is busy trying to keep up with Luke. The two boys are best friends and are truly lost when they are not with each other. Luke is a funny little guy. He enjoys making people laugh and being silly. He is messy in every sense of the word and has dimples that will melt any ones heart!
Happy 2nd Birthday Luke!!!!

Memorial Day Pictures

Every year I get the boys pictures in front of our Salvia perennials. This past weekend they were in full bloom, weather was perfect and most important the boys were both happy! I grabbed the camera and sat the boys down and started shooting. I didn't get the "both boys looking at the camera and smiling" type of picture that I was looking for but these are cute in their own little way too.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a very busy but fun Memorial Day weekend! We started it off with a ton of yard work with fertilizing, transplanting and mulching. We hired our nephew to help us out this year and of course our two boys wanted to pitch in (it's about time they started pulling their weight around here *wink*). Once all of that was complete we took it easy at Bent Creek's pool. The boys enjoyed splashing around and we all enjoyed floating around in the big pool. We capped the weekend off with a picnic at Nana & Papa's house. We enjoyed grilled ribs, cheese grits, Au Gratin Potatoes and baked beans. We had a special dessert at the end which Logan helped Nana bake - fresh (homegrown) strawberry shortcake! These are a few of the pictures from my parents house...

Family Picture Logan 3yrs old, Luke almost 2 yrs. old.

Our messy boy. This is nothing compared to how he normally looks after a meal!

Logan really enjoys playing frisbee with my parents dog.

Luke's Room

I recently took the nursery down and converted it into Luke's big boy room. I decided to do a nautical theme in his room and believe that it turned out well. Luke loves it and him transitioning over into a twin bed proved to be no big deal - just as it was with Logan at 15 months. Luke's room created a little more work for me as I painted the stripes on the wall, which Logan's room doesn't have - but while creating Logan's room I was also 9 months pregnant with Luke - enough said!

Enjoy the tours of both boys rooms!

Logan's Room

This is Logan's room. While he did not just have a room makeover I realized today that I never posted his "big boy" room on the blog. He has been in this room and out of the crib/ nursery since he was 15 months old, yes, even sleeping in that twin bed! I went with a vintage transportation theme and think that it turned out well. Logan loves his room and enjoys playing in there alone or with brother Luke.

Bird House

Ready-to-paint bird houses made their way into the boys Easter baskets this year. I thought it would be fun for them to paint and then hang outside to watch for momma birds to make it home. The project was a hit and the boys were very serious about painting their houses. We check them daily to see if they have been "rented out." The houses themselves are rather small so a small bird would have to occupy it. Next time I might opt for larger houses where we actually might get "renters!"
