Our last trip to O.C. in 2008

What a great way to wrap up the 2008 beach season...beautiful weather, warm water and fun family times! This is the best weather we have had all year at the beach. It wasn't too hot, it didn't rain and the best part, none of us got sick!

The boys are growing up so fast and what a difference each year makes. Both boys enjoyed playing in the sand and water and most of all riding the rides. Logan is getting to be so big (see roller coaster post below) and Luke will be riding the same rides next year as Logan rode this year. So hard to believe.

Chris and I wanted to get some good beach pictures of the boys this time around. It was no easy task! When Logan sees a camera he turns his head in the opposite direction and says, "NO!" Luke gets easily distracted and starts throwing sand and trying to get them together and both looking and smiling at the same time is nearly impossible! After many many bad shots I believe that these are the best that we are going to get...at least this year!

Enjoy looking at all of the posts from our Ocean City trip. From the lifeguards, to the zoo, the roller coaster and finally the ocean. Our boys are growing up so fast and we hope you are enjoying the view!

Ocean

The boys had so much fun playing in the ocean this time around, I guess it helped that the water was actually warm! There were no jelly fish (which surprised me) and lots of little shells.

Logan discovered sea shells, collected them and would then throw them back into the ocean. He also really enjoyed jumping the waves. He and Chris went in deep a few times together and both enjoyed themselves! Logan enjoyed playing trucks with some new friends and helping daddy dig the biggest sand hole around.

Luke has no fear! He loved the water and would run right in without any hesitation...which meant no relaxing in the sun for Chris and I as we would constantly have to be right by his side and pick him up after the waves would knock him down. Luke also enjoyed playing with the other children on the beach and checking out their sand castles. One little girl, Hannah, took the bucket from Luke and said, "I better handle this, babies aren't smart!" It was hilarious...she was only 4!

Roller Coaster!

Our little boy is growing up...literally! Logan is now officially tall enough to ride his 1st roller coaster. He caught a glimpse of this while riding a "baby ride" and wanted to ride it. He kept asking for the roller coaster so Chris and he went on. After his first ride he got off and cried so Chris and I assumed that he wouldn't want to ride that again anytime soon, boy were we wrong. He woke up the following morning and all he would talk about is the roller coaster, "please," he would say over and over again. Knowing the outcome of what happened before Chris and I knew that it would be a bad idea to let him ride it again. Well, here we are at the park again and Logan wanted to ride nothing else than the mighty roller coaster. We tried our best to direct him to a more "gentle" ride but nothing would do but to ride it again.....so Chris and Logan got back on and BOY OH BOY did he have fun!!!! These are the pictures from his 2nd ride and he just loved it! Later that evening we tried to get him to ride some "baby rides" with Luke and wanted nothing to do with them...only big boy rides for him!

Whee!
You can just barely see Logan's head over the side of the car
This is not the result of the roller coaster ride but the result of "it's time to leave the park and get these kids to bed!" Logan threw a MAJOR temper tantrum right there in the middle of Wonderland Amusement Park! You know when you always see other people's children throwing these and you always say to yourself, "Thank the lord that isn't my child," well...this time it was! Logan was kicking and screaming for "more rides" and "no night nights" all the way out of the park and halfway down the boardwalk. I can't tell you how many looks we got for this!

Lions and Tigers and Bears....Oh My!

One day we decided to take a break from the beach and visit Cape May County Zoo. We all had such a wonderful time seeing all of the beautiful animals. The county zoo is a donation only zoo and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. We arrived there just as they opened which was feeding time for the animals. How perfect, they were all out of their "homes" for us to see and view. Logan especially loved looking at all of the animals and making their "noises!" Here are some of our favorites!

Lifeguards On Duty

These must be the 2 cutest lifeguards in all of Ocean City!

"Hey you, swim between the green flags.....if I had a whistle I would blow it!"
"Watch your children, because we can't swim!"

Visiting Friends

On the way to the beach the boys and I stopped by Abington to visit a good friend of mine, Jenny! The boys and myself had a great time at the playground and catching up with Jenny and her girls, Marilynn and Olivia. Thanks for the fun!!!

Art

2 smocks, finger paint & a giant floor pad equals fun...right? Well not for all.....

Luke was not a happy camper during "art class," I guess he thought it would be much more fun to taste test than to fing
er paint! Logan however enjoyed it very much.

The finished product....priceless!

Lititz Spring Park - The Playground

It was a beautiful day to be at the park. The boys enjoyed feeding the ducks (see below) and then played on the playground. We were joined by my friend Jen and her son Gregory. All of the boys and us mommies enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back in the future! Here are some pictures from our day at Lititz Spring Park.

Logan climbs through a tunnel and Luke is saying "peek a boo"
