A boy and his best....monkey?

In preparation for Disney I bought Luke a child restraint (yes...it's a leash!) because I can't possibly expect him to sit in a stroller all day and trusting him to stay by my side or hold onto the side of the stroller will NEVER happen so I thought this might be my only other option. I brought it home, put it on him and he has loved Mr. Monkey ever since! Luke grunts for me to put it on him and he will walk around the house all day with monkey on his back. Today was the first day that I attached the "leash" to monkey and used it like it should be. As you can see Luke remained safe at the park and didn't seem to mind at all. Yes, it might look a little funny to have your child tied up like a dog but Luke really doesn't seem to mind. I am sure that in about 20 years I will hear all about it!

This was Luke's first introduction to Mr. Monkey

Playground

Here we are at the playground that we had all to ourselves. It was the perfect size for the two of them and they had a blast climbing, sliding and driving!

Luke's baby fine hair with some MAJOR static!

Logan was having a hard time sliding down the slide due to his shoes and their rubber soles so Nana said to him, "Logan lift your feet." Here he is literally lifting his foot! So cute

Feeding the Ducks

At an attempt to keep the boys out of Chris' way today (he's doing yard work) my mom (Nana) and I took the boys to Longs Park to feed the ducks, play on the playground and then eat lunch at McDonald's! What a gorgeous day for some fun in the park. Nana was kind enough to go out this morning and buy 10lbs. of duck food (looks like we will be feeding more ducks in the future!) for the boys to feed them. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves not to mention that it made the ducks happy too!

Logan's 1st Day of Preschool

Today was Logan's first day of preschool! We have been talking about school a lot lately and he has been so excited to go. This morning I walked into his room to get him up and he was already attempting to dress himself. He got into his closet and picked out a long sleeve shirt to wear and was trying to put it on, feet first! He wore it downstairs to show daddy and after breakfast we put on his school clothes and attempted to have picture time. We were have some major thunderstorms so outdoor pictures were out of the question. Logan was so excited I could hardly get a picture of him.

Drop off was a wet stormy mess! I managed to have Logan stay pretty dry but Luke and I were a different story. Yuck! I was half expecting some tears when I dropped him off but he went right into the class room like a big boy and started to play with the trains! Mrs.Siebert said that he did start to cry but it only lasted about 20 sec. until he was distracted and moved onto something else.

Today at school they dot painted stars, had table time with sorting shapes, bead chaser, puzzles and play-doh, read The Color of Me and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom at story time, at circle time the did freeze dance, animal action, sticky bubblegum and God made me. Sounds like a fun packed 2 1/2 hours!

At 11:30 was pickup time and Logan ran to me and told me all about his morning. He especially enjoyed dot painting and said that he had made his star for daddy. We are all looking forward to Thurs. when we get to repeat the process all over again...hopefully without the thunderstorms though! Looks like a fun year ahead of us :)

Logan at home - we are attempting to get pictures!

Pick up time. Logan spots me and comes running!

We are leaving the building. Logan looks like a little student with his backpack on!

All tuckered out...

I had prepared lunch for the boys and left them to eat at the table while I was unloading and loading the dishwasher back up. When I returned to the table this is how I found Luke....sound asleep! I was able to wipe his hands, face and carried him up to bed without even waking him up. I guess all the pool and play time today really tired him out!

Luke's 15 month Well Baby Visit

Today was Luke's 15 month well baby visit. As Dr. Hoshauer entered the room Luke proceeds to yell, "HELLO," followed by a very manly sounding burp! What does Logan do, he says, "Bless You!" That was followed by a whole bunch of laughs, Logan and Luke, myself and Dr. Hoshauer. All went well as Luke was examined and he is doing all that he should be doing (including throwing those lovely tantrums) and speaking as he should plus more. He received 3 shots today and cried like a little girl! He puffed out that bottom lip at the nurse like I have never seen him do before. Luke continues to be at the top of the charts with his weight at 28 lbs, 2oz (90%) and his height at 33 inches (92%). He is our big healthy boy!
