Baking with Logan

This evening Logan and I decided to bake Peach Cobbler. Yum! He was excited to sit on the counter and even more excited when he realized that I would let him pour all of the ingredients in the bowl and let him stir. He did an excellent job and the finished product was very yummy. We will definitely be baking together again!

Nebulizer Treatments

Logan's condition has improved greatly over the past couple of days. He continues with three nebulizer treatments per day (which he takes very well) along with daily doses of steroids. Other than him being very hyperactive (side effects from the medicine) our little guy is "back to normal." The doctors believe that his was caused from a virus and not the beginnings of asthma. We were thrilled to hear that news!

A trip to the E.R.

To Make a very long story short we had Logan to the E.R. on Sunday for respiratory distress. He was wheezing and working very hard to breathe. They are unsure if this is caused by a virus or if this is the onset of asthma. For those of you that don't know, Logan suffers from food allergies and asthma plays right along with that. Most people that have food allergies do have or will develop asthma.

We were in the e.r. room getting breathing treatments, being given steroids and having x-rays done of his chest. The x-ray technicians were packing up their equipment after taking pictures of Logan's chest when Logan in his raspy-wheezy voice pleaded out to them saying "help me, please help me!" It was the sweetest/ most pitiful thing to hear coming out of a 27 month old's mouth! As my mom put it, "It must have melted their hearts," because the men came back in with a handful of stickers for Logan to play with.

After about 5+ hours in the e.r we were released!!!!!!! YEA! It was a very long night and still have several days of nebulizer treatments here at home to do, but we are thankful that they didn't admit Logan for overnight observation/ treatment. We have a follow up appt today with his pediatrician and hopefully we will be able to get more answers and help our little guy get better. A BIG thanks to Nana who came along with us to the e.r. (Chris stayed home with Luke), to Linda our respiratory therapist, to Dr. Leisey who took very good care of Logan and to all of the others who helped our little boy breathe better!

Chris and I pray that this is a virus and a once and done deal. We hope and pray that this is not the onset of a life with asthma for Logan.

Car Washing

I had this morning all planned for Logan and I. Today, I was the day that Logan and I were going to bake cookies. Unfortunately, both boys came down with colds and I decided to nix the cookie baking since I didn't want my "secret ingredient" to be snot. Gross I know, but true! Both Chris and I thought the boys would enjoy washing the car instead. We were hoping that this would preoccupy them from their crankiness that came along with the cold and really thought that they would enjoy playing in the water. Here are pictures from our morning.

The boys enjoyed helping with the car wash...for the first 5 minutes that is!

Luke quickly got bored and decided that splashing around in the bubbles was way more fun!

Logan decided that his golf clubs and balls could use a good washing, Luke quickly joined in

The finished product! A nice clean van for me :) Thanks for all of your hard work boys!

A two year old's thinking

At dinner this evening Logan was goofing around a little so I asked him to eat his ham. He continued to play around with his fork so I nicely asked, "Logan, please put your ham in your belly." Logan promptly lifted his shirt and attempted to stuff his ham into his belly button! Lesson learned: Apparently I need to be much more specific when asking Logan to do something :)

Professional Photos

Luke's 1yr. Photo - this was taken 1 week before he started walking
Logan's 2yr. photo

I really wanted to get a great shot of the two boys together, it was a lot more difficult than I ever imagined! They can be so sweet together and I desperately wanted to capture that moment. I didn't get what I wanted but am still pleased none the less. This was the best photo of the two of them together.
At the end of May we visited Pea Pod Photography for the boys pictures. I took Logan there for his 1 yr. photos and was so pleased with them I decided to take them back. What an exhausting event that was...I think I must have burned an extra 500 calories in that 2 yr. time frame! Never knowing exactly how the boys moods will be or how they will react to all of the camera equipment I wasn't sure what kind of pictures I was going to walk away with. Luke hardly smiled (which is SO rare) and was just so preoccupied with all of the camera equipment we had a hard time getting a nice shot of him. Heather did manage to grab a few good shots however. Logan of course wasn't going to smile for Heather, which didn't surprise me at all. We did get a classic Logan look though as you saw above. What I wanted more than anything was a picture of the boys together. I wanted one of those shots where you just go "awww!" - I don't think I got that. They were not happy being together and would not touch each other at all! Sort of like "He's touching me," and screaming out. Heather commented a few times that they were like photographing twins - almost impossible! We were pleased with the photos and I told Heather that we would be back next year, which she said wouldn't be any better than this year....a girl can only hope! I wanted to post more photos of the boys but for whatever reason I was unable to download them. Hope you enjoy!

2 Yr. Old with Attitude

I don't know where Logan gets this stuff but this has happened on more than one occasion in our house. He knows exactly when to use it too! During this instance I was asking him to eat his chicken....I can't hear you!

Corn on the Cob

This is not Luke's first taste of corn - but this is his first time eating corn off the cob! He loved it but he needs to work on that technique!

No smiles from Luke

I like to try to get the boys pictures outside in front of the flowers as they bloom. This particular evening Logan was helping Chris water and I knew that I wouldn't be able to pry him away for a picture but I did manage to grab Luke. It didn't seem to matter what I did, I could not get Luke to smile. It's unusual for him so I guess I am safe to say he just wasn't in the mood! He sat for about 3 sec and got up and walked away.

Date Night

Here we are all dressed up and ready to go out for a date night. It's always so nice and refreshing to get out of the house - minus the kids - and to enjoy each other's company.

Boo-Boo #2

We sure do get our fair share of boo-boo's around here. This time Logan was the injured with a nice little knot on his head from playing soccer in the house. He was trying to capture the ball so it wouldn't go into the goal and his head collided with the leg of a chair. It's nothing a little kiss and a band-aid couldn't fix though!

Shades of blue and green

I was at the mall this morning with the boys making a return at Gymboree. There was another mother there with her son who must have been about 5 or 6 yrs. old. I was at the register making the return when I felt a little tap on my side. I turned my head and the little boy said, "He's in trouble (referring to Luke) he markered on his face!" How cute was that? I then explained to him that Luke has a boo boo on his face and it's not marker after all.

I asked Logan is morning when we were eating breakfast who made the boo-boo on Luke's face and he looked right at me and said, "Dogan did!" Guess that explains it!

Black Eyed Baby...

Saturday morning I was in the kitchen getting the diaper bag ready to spend the morning at Dutch Wonderland with the boys and my mom. The boys were playing nicely (or so I thought) in the family room. We have an open floor plan and I can see into the family room from the kitchen but I sure didn't see what happened next. All of a sudden I hear my 2 boys crying so I look up and they are both laying on the floor. I go in there and there is Luke with a swollen eye crying his little eyes out. Logan is laying on the floor crying and when I asked him what happened he immediately got himself up and walked over to the naughty chair and put himself on time out! I am only assume that Logan must have did something or thrown something to give his brother this nice looking eye....

This face may look innocent....but don't be fooled :)

Chris was in Philadelphia on day 2 of a golf tournament. Needless to say he came home to a nice looking shiner! The first words out of Chris' mouth "The first of many!"

How Cute!

I can't tell you how many times we heard that throughout the day when Luke was wearing his swim diaper cover from Lands End. He made so many people smile and comment about how cute that was and everyone wanted to know where it was from. When I saw it in the catalog I just couldn't resist! Isn't it just the cutest thing ever and of course the little boy in it isn't so bad either!

Ocean City, NJ

Chris and I enjoyed a long weekend at the beach with the boys. The weather could have been better but we had fun just the same. We stayed busy with walks on the boardwalk, surrey rides, dips in the pool, playing in the sand, QUICK dips in the ocean and enjoyed yummy boardwalk food! The water was freezing but the boys didn't seem to mind as much as Chris & I did. We were able to get onto the beach everyday in between the rain clouds. Logan and Luke enjoyed the sand and water and are looking forward to going back for a full week in August. Here are a few pictures from our trip.
