Goin' Bananas!

This morning at breakfast Luke ate some cheerios and a whole banana and a half (yes, 1.5 bananas) and was still asking for more! I had decided that he had enough bananas for the day so I wiped him up and helped him down. As I was helping Logan with his last couple of bites and wiping him up I hear, "Mmmm, Mmmm" coming from the other side of the kitchen. I look over the island to find Luke eating more bananas. Apparently he helped himself to the rest of the bananas on the counter (three to be exact), found a comfy seat on the floor and was digging in.

What was left? A pile of 3 half eaten bananas and their peels!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Last week was Grandpa Esbenshade's birthday (yes, I am a little behind posting). We had Grandma and Grandpa over for dinner and dessert to celebrate. The boys had a fun time running around and showing them all of their fun toys not to mention they had a great time eating all of the candy Grandma brought over for them....

they were on a little bit of a sugar high!

Flu Bug and Croup

The stomach bug has been passing like wildfire here with myself getting it first and then it spreading to Luke all while Logan came down with Croup! Needless to say it was a crazy couple of days! My poor mom was kind enough to help me out when I was sick and how do I repay her...by giving her this nasty bug! Sorry mom! So far, Chris has been the only healthy one!

Happy New Year

Well another wonderful year has passed us by. We celebrated Logan's 2nd birthday and Luke's 1st, have spent some fun times at the zoo and aquarium, Luke taking his first steps and receiving his first haircut, many days were spent playing in the ocean and building (or attempting to build) sandcastles, visited with G.G. (great grandma) and met Mickey Mouse for the 1st time, watched Logan learn how to pedal his first tricycle, dropped Logan off for his 1st day of Preschool (with tears, not from Logan but from me!), watched and truly played with the boys in their "first" snowfall and spend countless hours and days building wonderful childhood memories with our boys! We are looking forward to seeing what 2009 has in store for us here at the Esbenshade house!

This time of the year is always busy for us, especially busy for Chris with year end financials due at the office. Chris has been working a lot of long hours lately and his time spent with the boys has been limited. I asked Logan yesterday if he missed school (they have been on a 2 week break) and he replied, "No, I miss daddy!" How sweet is that, he just melted my heart? Luckily Chris was able to spent some nice quality time with the boys this morning before heading back into the office for another day of crunching numbers and running reports!

Happy New Year!
