Logan & His "Friends"

This is a normal day at the Esbenshade's...Logan eating and sharing with one of his "friends". Today he has decided that his penguin must be hungry for some peas. Logan not only "feeds" his little friends but I catch him holding his sippy cup up to their mouths for a drink too. He will also sit them on the floor and put a baby toy in front of them...you know, in case they get bored!

Our Boys...

Here are a few updated pictures of the boys. Luke will soon be turning 7 months old. As you can see he sits up, has 2 teeth and is scooting all around. Another little boy to keep our eyes on! Logan is 20 months and keeps us on our toes! This is what he calls the people he loves...
1. He calls Luke "Duke"
2. He calls PopPop "Dot Dot"
3. and when asked what his name is, he yells out "ME!"

Splish Splash WE were taking a bath...

The boys first bath together!

Favorite Toy

I recently brought up the jumperoo for Luke and boy oh boy does he ever love it!

Dutch Winter Wonderland

My parents were kind enough to watch Luke for the evening while Chris & I took Logan out for a bite to eat and then to Dutch Wonderland. Logan LOVED being an "only child" for the evening. He turned the charm on and had a great time. Here are a couple of pictures from our evening out. The top picture is a ride that he was pointing to and wanted to go on - of course I had to go on with him - I am not sure who was more scared...me or him! At the end however, he did say "more, more." And of course the classic Merry-Go-Round. Season passes....here we come!

Caught in the act...

I was on the phone giving a recipe to my sister-in-law and I saw in the corner of my eye Logan going into the pantry. I continued to give the recipe instructions and when I hung up this is what I found. I guess it is safe to say that Logan must have been one hungry little boy that afternoon! A whole bag of Cheez-Its dumped onto the ottoman.

The look on his face says it all...."But mom it wasn't me!"

The Boys

Logan is beginning to enjoy holding Luke a little more. I am trying to get him ready for Christmas pictures and wanting to hold his little brother.

Trick-or-Treat

Logan went trick-or-treating this year and was a spider. He had fun and really loved ringing the door bells and grabbing lots and lots of candy....most of which was put back due to his peanut allergy:(

Picture Day!

Wow, what an adventure! I had both of the boys at Picture People today, not an easy task getting both boys pictures done at the same time, but in the end we got some cute pictures...so I guess it was all worth it!

Logan is now 18 months old and Luke is 4 months

Day to day activities...

Luke has discovered his tongue and loves to stick it out!

At the harvest festival this past weekend Logan took a "train" ride all around the campus. At the end he cried for more when he had to get out.

After spending a hot and fun filled afternoon at the harvest festival and at community days, Luke was in need of a bottle and Logan always sits next to me (or climbing on top of me) while waiting for the empty bottle. He loves taking the cap on and off.

I was in the middle of cooking dinner when I had to tend to Luke. When I turned my back this is what Logan got into...literally! I am sure this is not good for the cabinetry nor is it meant to told a 30 lb. little boy, but none the less I felt the urge to take a picture before making him get out.

Luke at 3 1/2 months.

Both of the boys were watching Little Bear on tv this morning. As I look at the picture I actually notice how much they look alike. Call me crazy, but I hadn't noticed it before!

Ocean City, NJ

We spent a week in Ocean City, NJ and had beautiful weather, fun on the boardwalk, yummy food and interesting times on the beach! As it turns out Logan doesn't care for the beach (the sand or the ocean) but we are hoping that next year he will enjoy it a little more, especially since he will have a playmate (Luke).

Daddy and the boys

Fun times spent with both of our boys!

How high can you go?

Who needs batteries when you have Logan! He just loves pushing his little brother in the baby swing.

Smile!

That smile is contagious!

Our little thumb sucker

Just a picture of Logan sucking his thumb....if anyone knows of a good way to break the habit I would love to hear about it!

Well folks I did it...Logan was switched from his crib (which he loved but Luke desperately needed) over to a twin bed last week. I was dreading the moment because Logan loved his crib so much and was such a great sleeper I was afraid that if I switched him he would just crumble apart and become a horrible sleeper. Well, was I ever wrong! He loves his "big boy" bed and had no trouble transitioning over. Luke is now in the nursery and is sleeping through the night most of the time. He will still wake occasionally but is definitely heading in the right direction!

Brotherly Love

As much as Luke loves playing with his gym, I think Logan loves showing him how to play with it even more.

Luke's Smile

Luke actually had his first smile on July 5th, but this is the first one that I actually caught on camera.
